In February, the District of Squamish submitted a provincial grant application for $400,000 to $1 million to help finance a turf soccer field. On Monday (March 19), West Vancouver-Sea to Sky MLA Joan McIntyre picked up the phone.

After years of request, the SSA has added an Over 50 Mens division to the Soccerfest Tournament.

The games will take place at the Squamish Community Soccer Field located at Howe Sound Secondary.

The Squamish Soccer Association has continued to work hard over the winter  The DOS awarded $500,000 of the Olympic Legacy Fund from VANOC towards the turf field project.

In memory of Bobby Mahnger, the Squamish Soccer Association created the Bobby Mahnger Memorial Scholarship Award.

Despite the weather that we had on Saturday, the tournament went off without any major problems and on Sunday, the weather turned around for us and allowed the tournament to end on a good note once again.
